Our Mission
At Madness Gym, our mission is twofold: to become the number one combat sports destination in Palawan, and to empower the next generation through martial arts. We are committed to providing world-class training experiences for both locals and guests, creating a space where champions are made and communities are uplifted. Through our outreach program, we offer free training, mentorship, and life skills to local youth—believing that with discipline, guidance, and opportunity, every child has the potential to rise. Whether you're a tourist looking for high-level training or a young fighter chasing a dream, Madness Gym is where passion meets purpose.

ABOUT THE GYM
Madness is the first martial arts gym located in one of the most beautiful places in the world: El Nido, Palawan, Philippines.
The idea of a martial arts gym was first initiated by Rusty Macaraeg after moving to El Nido back in 2014. Soon realizing that there wasn't a martial arts community here and longing to have sparring partners he started to train on his own in the small local gym hopping someone else would eventually join. Being the small community that El Nido is, people soon started talking about the boxing and Muay Thai bartender in town. Instead of other martial artists joining him, Rusty found himself being asked to train others! From then on, there were so many people joining his daily classes that some of his close friends and offered him a space to build his own gym. He left his position at the bar and started the first Madness gym in March 2019 which was only approx 25sqm. By 2024 it was time to move out of the space and into a bigger complex which can now be found in Lio, El Nido. It officially opened on October 23rd 2024 and will be completed by the end of 2025.
